26 June 2013

Get Married in County Down ‘Where the Mountains of Mourne Sweep Down to the Sea!’

Why travel all over Northern Ireland on your wedding day when scenic County Down has everything you could wish for.

With so many wedding venues to choose from in Northern Ireland, deciding upon your fairytale location can be a difficult decision, but we can make that task a bit easier for you! Many of Northern Ireland’s most idyllic wedding venues are located right here in County Down, where ‘The Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea’.

 Murlough Wedding

From the rugged coastline of the Irish Sea to the leafy greenery of Tollymore & Castlewellan Forest Parks, County Down is your picture perfect location to capture those special memories of your wedding day.

We have selected three of the many beautiful backdrops County Down has to offer for truly beautiful wedding photographs that will have you shedding tears of happiness as you look back on your special day in years to come.  Whether you are into architecture or landscapes, rolling hills or sandy beaches, these local attractions have it all:

 Murlough

Murlough National Nature Reserve

From the peaks of the mountains to the waves of the sea, Murlough Beach boasts an extraordinarily beautiful dune landscape.  Murlough is Ireland’s first Nature Reserve and one of Northern Ireland’s most popular beaches.  There is also much grassland and woodland surrounding the beach to capture the most charming wedding day shots.  On your special day, escape for a little while with that special person. Let the wind whip through your hair as you run barefoot and carefree on the beach with the sand between your toes.

Dundrum Castle

Dundrum Castle, as the name suggests is situated in the picturesque small town of Dundrum, which lies between the market town of Ballynahinch and the seaside resort of Newcastle in County Down. Constructed by Anglo-Knight, John de Courcy at the beginning of the 13th Century during his invasion of Ulster, the site is steeped in rich history and culture.  The castle stands on top of a rocky hill, with amazing views of Dundrum Bay and the Mourne Mountains, Slieve Croob to the west and the plains of Lecale to the East.
